5 Things That Turned A Baby Nursery Into A Toddler Room
We have recently gone through the transition of changing Parker’s bedroom from a nursery into a toddler bedroom.
Along the way I have found some items that have been super useful in the change in making Parker settle in to his room super easy and fingers crossed I think I can safely say after a month of him being in there that he is totally settled and comfy.
#1 A fun bed
I was nervous about the change over as his cot has been his safe haven and he loved it for 2 and a half years so I thought a fun bed to transition to would be helpful and by god I was right- We went for a super fun car bed from little tikes he is over joyed with the bed and happily shouts car bed time on an evening.

#2 Super soft snuggly bedding
we opted for the silent night safe night range which ties in perfectly with his already grey, white and yellow room. This super soft bedding is completely safe and breathable for kids, not to mention super cute.
#3 Storage solutions
Ikea do some great storage solutions which are sturdy and practical for kids. We love the Ikea kallax range and have various sizes and colours in our house.
#4 Fun Accessories
There seems to be alot more bedroom accessories for girls but I have found a fab train shaped notice board that will be great for P’s room to hold his artist creations aka Paint splats they do some fab designs over at Sundeala. They come in various designs and colours to suite most bedroom themes.

#5 Cute Play Rug
Melissa and Doug do a super cute car rug which doubles up as a race track as well as a practical rug. Its so vibrant and even comes with a few cars.
Is there anything you feel that helped your child transition into a big child room?

It can be hard to make changes but it sounds like you’ve adapted well with some cute additions!

I love that first image! I want a bed like that, teddy bear and all! Great suggestions these. My kids would have loved one of those little tike beds when they were tiny. They’re all a bit too big for one now though. 😉

We were struggling when we changed our 2 year old’s cot to a bed and thinking of how to make it a bigger boy room. These are great ideas, wish we had seen this before.

A fun bed is always a great idea, mine have canopies on their beds which they love, and the girls bunk beds. Love the rug idea too!

That bed is so cute, I know that if I ever have children, and it’s a boy that bed would most certainly come into the room when they grow into a toddler. It’s just so cute.

I love the bed, my daughter had a pink one when she was younger. Storage was also a major key when we changed hers over many moons ago, I can’t believe how much stuff kids end up actually owning x

We let our daughter pick things for her room like duvet covers and decorations. That definitely helped with her move
