Mums, mum guilt is a real thing isn’t it.
Before I was a mum I used to brush off passing comments like this that mums used to make that they always felt mum guilt and they always struggled what to do for the best.
Since having my youngest and getting hormones pumped into my body to conceive him ( see previous posts if you didn’t know) I don’t know if that caused an imbalance in my thought processes and hormones later down the line or if it was the start of the mum guilt.
After confiding in a friend who is a holistic therapist she told me about a new method she was training in which was EFT. I had never heard of this before so did some research before I became her guinea pig. This first thing I needed to know is what EFT was.
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques, and users say that this simple technique helps them feel better quickly. EFT tapping has roots in the 1970s when several doctors began stimulating acupressure points to help their patients deal with stress, fear, and phobias.
I saw this and immediately thought no, no way was someone tapping me going to help my thought process and neither was I going to pay a high price for that service either.
After telling my friend I was super sceptical and that I was really feeling the idea of it she offered me a free sessions as a case study.
She got out a note pad and we began to make notes of things that’s kept entering my mind and were refusing to leave.
Mum guilt- was I ever going to be good enough
Financial worries- could i afford to bring a human into this world and provide for them for the next 18 years.
Sibling worry- yes I was lucky to have one baby but what if they want a sibling and I cannot give it to them due to fertility issues getting worse.
These are just to name a few of the issues we needed to work on.
She laid me on her massage couch and arranged me in a comfortable position then began tapping and chanting on my forehead and asking me to repeat after her- the sceptic in me started to think what the hell is happening:
Before I knew it I was so relaxed that I felt like I was floating and the worries where swimming past me, irrelevant to me anymore- just a product in the sea being washed away.
I am a convert- I take back anything I ever said about this weird and wonderful therapy.

Here a just a few things EFT has done for me:
Rid me of my constant mum guilt that was like a black cloud over my head.
I no longer get anxious in uncomfortable situations I take it in my stride.
I was an introvert but now I can do anything I was and hope to show my kids they can to!
The fear of never being enough has lifted- I know I am enough and all I need for my kids.
Would you think about trying from EFT?
