How To Build A Good Credit Score

Since the credit crunch a few years ago I have found that the requirements for getting anything on credit keeps moving up and up.

A big factor I found when applying for credit is keeping your credit score in a good condition.

So here is some tips to help you build a good credit score-

#1 Take out a contract Phone

The first kind of credit you will have as a teenager is probably a contract mobile phone. This is a great place to start as when you make consistent monthly repayments this will help your credit score, after all who buys top up cards still these days. Do they still even exist?

#2 Take out A Short Term loan

By taking out a small short term loan is a fast way to improve your credit score. Again making consistent monthly payments and completely repaying a loan gives you a boost in the credit score stakes.

Companies like a Cash Lady offer short term loans with no hidden fees and a quick decision. They have a handy feature too which shows you consumer trends of the amount of cash borrowed over the UK.

#3 Spreading the cost with Buy Now Pay Later Catalogues

Lots of catalog style companies offer a buy now pay later option where you can order goods with no upfront payment and pay them over an agreed amount of time- often they have interest free payment times too.

I have found Studio Catalog to be a good one for building my score.

You can check your credit score simply online with many companies. I check mine with Noddle because it’s free and they send me a monthly reminder when a new score has been generated.

What do you do to keep your credit score healthy?
