Attractions We Have Visited Post Lockdown

I don’t know about anyone else but since lockdown was lifted and attractions and things started to open, the 6 weeks school holidays have flown by!

We couldn’t wait to get some fun stuff in the diary when everything started opening to enjoy the summer before hopefully returning to a more normal time come September.

Here are the places we have visited and what we thought, good and bad.

Sundown Adventure Land

PROS
  • Online Booking system
  • Massively reduce capacity
  • Temperature taking on arrival
  • Regular cleaning routines
  • Plenty of outdoor seating
  • Systems in place indoor with food and toilets etc
CONS
  • Small houses closed- I suggest a one way system and hand sanitizer at beginning and end could make them safe to access. This maybe wouldn’t be an issue for some but the toy town and storybook houses are a favourite of his at Sundown.

Popular Pub Chains Greene King & Wetherspoons

PROS
  • Online ordering systems
  • Spaced out tables
  • Plastic partitions
  • Single use menus
  • Sanitising stations
  • Part of the eat out to help out scheme

CONS

  • Staff not wearing masks or visors
  • Staff not social distancing where possible
  • Toilet had no system

Council Run Swimming Baths

My son has swam since being 6 weeks old having lessons with various organisations. So when they announced pools could be opened, we dived straight in, literally!

PROS

  • Our council applicable only
  • Pre booking required
  • Private changing and locker allocated so that no one else uses them throughout the duration of the session
  • Cordoned off area of the pool
  • One way system through the building
  • Structured cleaning routines

CONS

  • NON! Our council are smashing it and I prefer the controlled atmosphere of limited numbers.

Local Soft Play Areas

This week our local soft play has reopened just in time for a play session before back to school tomorrow! We were super excited to run off some steam ready for an early night for school tomorrow.

PROS

  • Online Booking system
  • Limited numbers
  • Timed sessions
  • One way systems
  • Masks when moving around the building
  • Ball pit had been removed for hygiene reasons
  • Staff wearing visors at all times
  • Food counter had Perspex all around

CON

  • No hand sanitising stations any where and hand sanitizer offered in the bathrooms were so strong the kids could of got drunk off the fumes!

Hall Park Farm

This was our first attraction visit post lock down, we thought we would try somewhere new to us, outdoors and fun! So glad we did!

PROS

  • Online booking with reduced price due to soft play not open when we attended (well done! More places need to do this if some services are closed)
  • One way systems
  • Reduced capacity
  • Sanitisers abs sinks available through out
  • Set cleaning regimes even for outdoor areas and bin- staff wearing amazing PPE and very informative to kids asking what they are doing.

CONS

  • None
